Now that the dust has settled with the Google Jagger update, what have we learned? Well, at the top level, the world’s favourite search engine has got better at working out where the good stuff is on the Web.
That’s just what we’d hope for from a search engine, isn’t it?
Google has thrown (OK, invested) wads of cash into upgrading its algorithms. And, to what end? Possibly better results for Google users. It seems Google has concentrated on excluding spammy sites from its rankings – or, at least downgrading those with low quality content.
So sites that provide great content – and lots of it – are being rated more highly.
I don’t have a problem with that.
