Today was the first time I helped a WORDS SELL! club member

The best-laid plans and all that…

Here I was expecting people asking me about their Web site content, direct mail letters or even PowerPoint presentations.

The first request was for me to look at a member’s CV. As someone who’s been self-employed or part of my own company for years, I may not be the best person to ask about this.

I looked at it from a marketing perspective, then started Rules of this House – including no CVs. If I can’t positively and confidently advise members, I don’t think I should do it.

I guess it does show how fundamental words are when we’re in sales mode. It also shows where my abilities with words tail off.

I’m very interested in seeing what members think of my advice.
