Last night I said thanks to Simon Wilcox for his help with my old Radio data.
What I still haven’t done, of course, is to thank Paul Makepeace properly for accommodating Dangerous Thinking on his server, and spending so much of his time installing and sorting out Movable Type for me.
It has been a bit of a voyage of discovery for both of us – me, more than Paul, I can assure you
But between us, we have MT running very sweetly.
So what do I get from Paul? Well, here are the hosting details. Amongst other things, being a bit of an ubergeek, Paul uses PostgreSQL rather than mySQL, which he tells me is the Dog’s Doo-Dahs of open source databases.
There’s also spam protection on my e-mail account, error logs every morning and some very sexy stats all thrown in – and probably some other bells and whistles I haven’t yet fathomed.
But what I can say is that I’m really happy I met up with him through Ecademy, and so far our informal hosting arrangement has proved much more rewarding than those my company has with some big ISPs. Maybe there’s something here I should explore in more depth
If you’re looking for some reasonably-priced high-spec Web hosting, do get in touch with Paul. If you’re lucky, he may even install Movable Type for you!
Thanks mate!
